Nájera is a Congressman in the Honduran Congress. He is alleged to have been involved in serious corruption using his position to facilitate bribes that supported a major drug trafficking organisation, ‘Los Cachiros’, and which enabled the cartel to evade accountability. Conduct of this nature seriously undermines the rule of law and trust in public institutions in Honduras.
