López Centeno was a high-ranking public official and Vice President of state-owned ALBANISA. He is alleged to have been involved in serious corruption by presiding over misappropriation during his leadership whereby public funds were said to be diverted to fake companies or inflated projects. He is suspected of being responsible for serious corruption, and having facilitated or supported it. This deprived the Nicaraguan state and its citizens of vital resources for development. [1]
